Friars Primary School and Pickhurst Junior Academy have both selected Rainbow Cleaning for the provision of the cleaning services after a detailed selection process.

The agreed contracts for both schools are to be carried out over a minimum term of 2 years; with the planned cleaning programme being performed in and out of term time, tailored to the specific requirements of each location.

One of the two awarded contracts are due to commence in May 2012.

To ensure a high standard is maintained, our operations management team will perform frequent site visits and undertake regular site audits using our robust Quality Management System (QMS) to help monitor and measure standards.

R.K.Harrison is one of the largest insurance brokers within the City of London, they specialise in providing bespoke solutions to businesses, trade associations, insurance brokers and private individuals. Rainbow Cleaning were first invited in to provide a quote for the cleaning of R.K.Harrison in 2010 at the companies brand new corporate head quarters. The new city building was built following the amalgamation of three of its sites. After a tendering process, our quote was accepted, and work began not long after.

The renewal of such a prominent six figure contract is a great start to the New Year for Rainbow Cleaning, client retention is a crucial factor in the continued growth of the Rainbow Group.

The Goldsmiths' Centre is a new charity established by the Goldsmiths' Company, offering educational and various training opportunities through the Goldsmiths' Institute. The redeveloped building offers a variety of facilities such as managed workspace, exhibition and conference facilities and an onsite café. Work on the Clerkenwell based centre began in May 2010, and the building works were completed and handed over to the trustees in January 2012.

It was in the summer of 2011 that Rainbow Cleaning was invited to tender for the cleaning. At that stage the centre was very much a building site, therefore we had to utilise a combination of site visits, subsequent client meetings, and site plans, to finalise the cleaning specification to meet the needs of the eventual building users.

In late 2011, just before the completion of the building the award was offered. Rainbow Cleaning was delighted to be awarded the cleaning contract of such a prestigious new development.

After our success at AIS and within the space of five months, we consolidated the cleaning contracts for MPG Media and Cake. On surveying CRA's prestigious City offices it was clear that the main issues were the lack of attention to detail and irregular communication from the incumbent supplier to the client. 

To address the situation, we proposed several proactive changes. These changes included the implementation of a site supervisor to work alongside the cleaning staff ensuring that they were working to the required and expected standard. Increasing the hours would ensure that there was enough time given to perform the cleaning, to meet the clients exacting specification.

After speaking to the client, in regards to what led to the decision on Rainbow Cleaning being awarded the contract, they said that they were particularly impressed by our iPhone compatible Quality Control audit system which no other company had demonstrated at the time. 

When asked what they felt had been the most positive change to the cleaning at the premises since the start of the contract, they said “The main difference we have noticed when compared to our previous two cleaning contractors is your level of customer service and the speedy responsiveness to issues that arise. The area manager assigned to us is efficient, proactive and always exceeds the required standards”.

The Old Vic is known for its rich theatre history, its Artistic Director (actor Kevin Spacey), and the historical landmark it represents for London. The contract worth in excess of £80,000 per annum was won after a competitive bidding process.

Our Business Development Manager (BDM) who secured the contract said:

Following an assessment by an independent body, Rainbow Cleaning has been awarded ISO 9001 certification. This certification has only been achieved by about 5% of UK businesses and this prestigious award is supported by the Government and recognised world-wide.

The Camberwell based firm recently received Accreditation from SAFE Contractor, a programme which recognises very high standards of health and safety practises amongst UK contractors.

Employing over 700 people, Rainbow Cleaning is principally involved in the provision of commercial & industrial cleaning.

Specialising primarily in daily office cleaning and the provision of janitorial supplies they have a £5 million turnover, Rainbow Cleaning’s most recent clients have included major players such as Adidas, Talksport and supplying the cleaning to in excess of 40 medical centres and doctors surgeries across London. 

The company’s application for SAFE Contractor Accreditation was driven by the need for a uniform standard across the business.

SAFE Contractor Accreditation is expected to enhance the company’s ability to attract new contracts and it’s commitment to safety will be reviewed positively by its insurers when the company’s liability policy is up for renewal.

SAFE Contractor is applicable to most sectors although it is particularly relevant to food manufacturers, property, facilities management, retail and leisure sectors, all of which are big users of contract services.

Darren Hughes, Operation Director for SAFE Contractor said, “Major organisations can no longer run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound health and safety policies”

Under the SAFE Contractors system, businesses undergo a vetting process, which examines health and safety procedures and their track record for safe practices.

Those companies meeting the high standard are included on a database, which is accessible to registered users only via a website.
Employer-organisations who sign up for the scheme can access the database, which enables them to vet potential contractors before they even step foot on site.  These employers agree that, as users of the scheme, they will engage only those who have accreditation.

Over 100 major nation-wide businesses, from several key sectors, have signed up to use the scheme when selecting contractors for services such as building, cleaning, maintenance, refurbishment or electrical and mechanical work.
